Amanda Pezzanite, LCSW-C

Amanda Pezzanite is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™ and has over 190 hours of training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. At DBT Maryland, she offers Comprehensive DBT for adolescents and young adults, family therapy, and runs adolescent DBT skills and graduate groups. Amanda has particular interest and expertise in the treatment of trauma using DBT-PE (prolonged exposure.)
Amanda graduated with a Bachelor's degree in social work from Hood College. She went on to get her Master's in clinical social work with concentrations in mental health and substance abuse at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. While in graduate school she provided individual and group therapy at an outpatient substance abuse treatment center in Frederick, MD. Just after graduating, she moved to Honduras to be a volunteer resource teacher for eight months.
In addition to her work at DBT Maryland, Amanda also works at the John L. Gildner Regional Children and Adolescents (JLG-RICA) in Rockville, MD as the DBT Program Coordinator and Implementation Specialist. At JLG-RICA she created and implemented a DBT training program for therapists as well as residential and school staff. She also provides DBT supervision.
