Jannae Johnson, LMSW
Jannae Johnson is a Licensed Master Social Worker, dedicated to providing emotional safety and supporting clients on their journey to emotional resilience and fulfillment. Jannae utilizes a combination of evidence-based modalities, such as DBT and CBT, with warmth and authenticity. She believes being genuinely seen and heard are prerequisites to achieving goals and makes this a priority with every client.
Originally from New Jersey, Jannae obtained her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Post-graduation, Jannae worked as a Partial Care Counselor, providing group therapy and case management services to adult clients in Mercer County. She returned to her alma mater to earn her Master’s degree in Social Work and interned at the Center for Therapy and Counseling Services where she provided individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults. After graduating with her Master's degree, Jannae relocated to the Washington Metropolitan Area, joining Embark Behavioral Health as a therapist. At Embark, Jannae provided individual, group and family therapy to high-risk adolescents and young adults as part of their Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs.
Throughout her work, Jannae has fostered a special interest in helping clients improve their emotional regulation and develop their sense of self. She seeks to empower individuals to navigate life's challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and ultimately achieve their goals for personal and emotional well-being.
Outside of her work, Jannae enjoys singing, writing, and losing herself in a good book.
